Dear All,

January and February have been good months, but also months that have had their share of trials. So, we shall start at the beginning.

January Happenings - The best part of January was the Leadership Conference at the European Nazarene College in Buesingen, Germany (it is a German town within the boarders of Switzerland). At the conference we were able to meet other Nazarene missionaries and volunteers from all over Europe. During this time we had a chance to share with one another our struggles and victories. I realized that some of the difficulties we face here in Slovenia are not isolated to this country. We exchanged ideas on how to tackle a problem and offered encouragement for one another. It was great!

February Happenings - The on-going ministries and friendships certainly were the highlight of February. Our Tuesday night Bible study, called Epic, continues to grow. The Wednesday night women’s study has struggled a little bit, but is gaining momentum once again. I am also excited to inform you that I am now in a choir!!! My friend Karmen is in a community choir. She knows that I like to sing, so she asked if I would be interested in joining. I started a few weeks ago and while it has been a challenge (everything is in Slovene), I have loved every minute of it! Pray that the Lord will help me be a light to the other members of the Choir. Also pray for Karmen. She asks me a lot of questions about my faith and has shown interest in coming to our Bible studies. Pray that she would take those steps!

Prayer request No. 1 - The discipleship of believers. One of our goals and ministries here is to disciple new believers. They are the future leaders of the church in this country. And they are hungry for knowledge! Many of them would be at a Bible study every night of the week if time allowed it! They need lots of encouragement!

Prayer request No. 2 - Nonbelievers who are seeking. A few weeks ago we had a young man, Andre, visit our Tuesday Bible study. A few moments of conversation with him revealed that Andre is very confused in his thinking. This misdirected youth has heard just enough of Hinduism, Buddhism, Mysticism and Witchcraft to make his brain mush. Pray that as he continues to join the Bible study and, as we continue to pray for him, that the truth of God would penetrate the many lies he has absorbed!

Please pray for our friend Katja. She is seeking Christ right now she has started reading the book of John and is even reading, “Loving God” by Charles Colson. These readings have sparked some questions in her mind and she is very eager to talk about these things with Cristal, my roommate, and me. She seems so close to making a commitment to Chris. Pray that the Lord would give us wisdom in what we say to her and that her mind would be protected from the darts of the enemy!

Epilogue - This past Saturday, one of the other volunteers, Mark and I held a workshop on Bible study and Biblical interpretation. Both Mark and I, who studied theology and pastoral ministry in college, employed some of our university learning to lead this class. I din’t go to skool fur nuthin’. We were only expecting 2 or 3 people at the most, and ended up with 7! We were so encouraged by the turnout. The purpose of these workshops is to equip Slovene believers with tools to help them in their personal spiritual growth as well as growth as leaders in the church. I am very happy that so many were interested. This was the first workshop that we have held, and there is a second one planned for later this month. Pray that more will be interested in coming!

Once again, thank you for your prayers and support! Lord bless you greatly!

Brittany :)
