I would like to introduce you to Brittany Coleman from Sciotoville Church.  She has been approved to do Mission Corps (NIVS) in Slovenia this coming fall.   One of the volunteers over there will be coming home for three months starting in October. They are needing Brittany to take over some of her duties, as well as working with the youth.  She intends to leave by the week of Sept. 17th.  However, in order to participate in this amazing opportunity she needs to raise funds.

Would your church be willing to support her?  She can share a presentation with your church about Mission Corps and/or the church in Slovenia in the next few weeks or after she returns. 

Here is a little about her and her ministry:

I was born and raised on the Central Ohio district and I am currently serving as a youth pastor at the Sciotoville Church of the Nazarene where I have been for the past two years. I am also a district licensed minister with Central Ohio. I graduated from MVNU in 2004. My major was Religion and I took the pastoral ministries track. I felt God calling me into the ministry at the age of 15 and when I was 17 I knew he wanted me in missions. I love doing youth ministry and that is what I hope to continue doing in Slovenia.

The ministry in Slovenia is done mainly through friendship evangelism and home churches. From what I've read and what the missionary has told me, Slovenians are suspect of the "church" as in institution, but they are willing to talk to a friend about God and even willing to go to a house Bible study. I will be working with a women's Bible study that is held once a week. God willing, I will also be starting a youth ministry. Right now the church in Slovenia doesn't have something specifically for the teens. With the Lord's help, I hope to develop something for these kids. A major challenge, but I am asking for the Lord's wisdom. He knows I can't do it on my own!
