2024 Mane Event Gravel Grinder Bike Ride

STARTING/ENDING POINT: Wyarno Bar & Grill

1041 Wyarno Rd. (Wyoming HWY 336)

Sheridan, WY

(Located about 9 miles east of Exit 23 on I-90)

RIDER CHECK IN: All riders must check in at the Wyarno Bar & Grill on Friday, September 27 from 4 pm to 8 pm to receive their race packets, final instructions and to ask any questions you may have.

STARTING TIME: Starting times Saturday morning will depend on number of riders and choice of ride with 80 milers starting first at 7:30 am, 50 milers second at 8:30 am and 25 milers third at 10:00 am. These times may change; notification of final times will be at the registration Friday, September 27.

REGISTRATION FEES PROVIDE EACH RIDER WITH THE FOLLOWING:

  1. A Mane Event ride tee shirt or water bottle (for Early Bird and Regular Registrations only)
  2. A Mane Event pamphlet with information and event details
  3. Timing for you to document your efforts
  4. Rest stations with water, snacks and portable toilets. See Route Descriptions and Maps for the type of station, number and locations for each ride distance
  5. Vehicles to assist with breakdowns & transportation back to Wyarno if needed
  6. Riders have until 3 pm to finish their ride, after that time they will be picked up and given a ride back to Wyarno
  7. Meal after the event.
  8. Family entertainment after the event

RIDE RULES and ETIQUETTE:

  1. The surface of the Wyoming Highways, Sheridan Streets and Sheridan Pathways will be paved and Sheridan County Roads will be gravel. The approximate amount of paved roads for each ride is as follows:
  2. 25 mile ride will be approximately 9% paved
  3. 52 mile ride will be approximately 17% paved
  4. 80 mile ride will be approximately 20% paved
  5. All roads and pathways are open to the public. Try to ride single file for the protection of yourself and others. Remember, just because you are in the right, makes no difference if you get hit by a car or other rider.
  6. Obey all traffic signs and rules of the road.
  7. Always look behind you when merging or turning. DO NOT ASSUME no one is behind you.
  8. Never ride in the oncoming lane on any public road, as the is ILLEGAL.
  9. When passing another rider, please give fair notice to the rider in front and be patient as they safely allow you to pass. Riders being passed, please allow faster riders an opportunity to pass without risking your own or their personal safety.
  10. An ANSI or Snell approved helmet must be worn while riding in the ride and the failure to wear one will result in expulsion from the ride.
  11. Each rider will be presented with a detailed printed description of their ride and there should be arrows at intersections to assist riders.

25 Mile Ride

  1. Starting point, Wyarno Bar & Grill, 1041 Wyarno Rd (Wyoming Hwy 336), Sheridan, WY;junction of County Rd 161, Dutch Creek Rd;
  2. Stay to the right on County Rd 161, Dutch Creek Rd, for 4.8 miles to the junction of County Rd 151, Dow Prong Rd;
  3. Leave the Wyarno Bar and Grill turning left on Hwy 336 and travel 1.1 miles to the end of pavement,
  4. Turn right on County Rd 151, Dow Prong Rd for 1.6 miles to junction of County Rd 64, Upper Cat Creek Rd;
  5. Water Station and portable toilet here;
  6. You will then continue on County Rd 151, Dow Prong Rd for 5.3 miles;
  7. Water station here;
  8. Turn around and go back the route you just came on for 12.8 miles to the Wyarno Bar and Grill, for a total round trip of 25.6 miles.

50 Mile Ride

  1. Starting point, Wyarno Bar & Grill, 1041 Wyarno Rd (Wyoming Hwy 336), Sheridan, WY;
  2. Leave the Wyarno Bar and Grill turning right on Hwy 336, for 1.9 miles to the junction of County Rd 84, Wildcat Rd;
  3. Turn left on County Rd 84, Wildcat Rd, for 6.9 miles to junction of Hwy 336;
  4. You will turn left on Hwy 336 for .6 miles to County Rd 139, East Ridge Rd;
  5. Turn left on County Rd 139, East Ridge Rd for 1.1 miles;
  6. Water station and portable toilet here;
  7. You will then continue on County Rd 139, East Ridge Rd for 2 miles to the junction of Hwy 14;
  8. Turn left on Hwy 14 for 3.9 miles to the junction of County Rd 64, Upper Cat Creek Rd;
  9. Turn left on County Rd 64, Upper Cat Creek Rd, for 6.4 miles to junction of County Rd 151, Dow Prong Rd;
  10. Water station and portable toilet here;
  11. Turn left on County Rd 151, Dow Prong Rd, for 1.6 miles to junction of County Rd 161, Dutch Creek Rd;
  12. Turn right on County Rd 161, Dutch Creek Rd for 9.6 miles to the top of the hill across from Pruzak's driveway;
  13. Water station and portable toilet here;
  14. Then you travel downhill for 1.7 miles, cross the railroad track and turn left onto County Rd 42, Ulm Rd, traveling downhill thru Ulm and Verona for 14.1 miles to the junction Hwy 336;
  15. Turn right on Hwy 336 for 1.1 miles to the Wyarno Bar and Grill;
  16. This completes your ride of 50.5 miles.

80 Mile Ride

  1. Starting point, Wyarno Bar & Grill, 1041 Wyarno Rd (Wyoming Hwy 336), Sheridan, WY;
  2. Leave the Wyarno Bar and Grill turning right on Hwy 336, for 1.9 miles to the junction of County Rd 84, Wildcat Rd;
  3. Turn left on County Rd 84, Wildcat Rd, for 5 miles to junction of County Rd 1209, Wakley Rd;
  4. Turn right on County Rd 1209, Wakley Rd for 1.2miles to Hwy 336;
  5. Cross Hwy 336 onto County Rd 1211, Lower Prairie Dog Rd for 11.2 miles to the junction of County Rd 1211, Beatty Gulch Rd;
  6. Water station and portable toilet here;
  7. Turn left on County Rd 1231, Beatty Gulch Rd for 12 miles to Hwy 338 Decker Hwy);
  8. Turn left on Hwy 338 (Decker Hwy) for 3.2 miles, past KOA Campground to the river;
  9. Turn right going under I-90 for approximately .2 miles to the bridge over the river on your left;
  10. Turn left over the bridge, continue under I-90, stay on the left and continue around until you come to the junction of Higby Rd;
  11. Turn right on Higby Road for 1 mile to the junction Kittering Rd, turn left and cross railroad tracks;
  12. Continue on Kittering Rd for .8 miles to the junction of Skeels Street;
  13. Turn right on Skeels Street and continue for 1 mile to the junction of East 5th Street (Hwy 336);
  14. Turn left on East 5th Street (Hwy 336) for .8 miles to the Junction of County Rd 139, East Ridge Rd;
  15. Turn right on County Rd 139, East Ridge Rd for 1.1 miles;
  16. Water station and portable toilet here;
  17. You will then continue on County Rd 139, East Ridge Rd for 2 miles to the junction of Hwy 14;
  18. Turn left on Hwy 14 for 3.9 miles to the junction of County Rd 64, Upper Cat Creek Rd;
  19. Turn left on County Rd 64, Upper Cat Creek Rd, for 6.4 miles to junction of County Rd 151, Dow Prong Rd;
  20. Water station and portable toilet here;
  21. Turn left on County Rd 151, Dow Prong Rd, for 1.6 miles to junction of County Rd 161, Dutch Creek Rd;
  22. Turn right on County Rd 161, Dutch Creek Rd for 9.6 miles to the top of the hill across from Pruzak's driveway;
  23. Water station and portable toilet here;
  24. Then you will travel downhill for 1.7 miles, cross the railroad track and turn left onto County Rd 42, Ulm Rd, traveling downhill thru Ulm and Verona for 14.1 miles to the junction Hwy 336;
  25. Turn right on Hwy 336 for 1.1 miles to the Wyarno Bar and Grill;
  26. This completes your ride of approximately 80 miles.
